About the venue

Located in the historic centre of the capital of the Ria Formosa, Casa Amor is a boutique hotel of 10 rooms with a coffee shop and a small art gallery.

Casa Amor was completely restored and rediscovered its spirit of the 19th century: white whitewashed walls, bare stones and platibandas typical of the Algarve. The old house was built in 1870 by Dr. Pádua. He was a doctor, but also a musician, conductor and mayor of the city. On the ground floor, the dining room offers breakfast and we have dinner under the hundred-year-old white vaults. It is illuminated by the light from the white patio that enters through large black metal windows. Here, the old and the modern are juxtaposed without ever conflicting. You can also sit in the patio or to shelter from the summer heat. The winter lounge, like an old chapel, invites you to read or relax, in the cool in summer and by the fireplace in winter.

On the rooftop terrace, where figs and octopuses once dried, the Santa Catarina terracotta now offer their softness to bare feet. The saltwater pool, without chlorine, dominates the patio. One is refreshed by the view of the white cubic city and in the distance Mount Saint Miguel. The large mirador offers a magnificent view of the Ria Formosa and the islands. The bedrooms, located on the upper floors, benefit from the natural and beautiful light of the Algarve. They have white walls, with northern pine parquet as in the old churches here, porcelain switches, and large wooden doors typical of Portuguese beautiful houses. Antique furniture has been restored and is back in its place. Artists from here and there have been chosen for colour and beauty. Each bedroom is different and has been individually decorated. The rooftop suite has its own entrance. Push open the small gate to discover the private terrace of more than 70 m².

Casa Amor is located at 15 km from Faro International Airport, less than 15 minutes by car and 45 minutes by bus.At Casa Amor, you are just at:- 750 m from the train station, 10 minutes walk,- 350 m from the famous markets and the large promenade on the edge of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, 4 minutes walk,- 800 m from the boarding docks for the ferry to the island villages of Armona, Farol or Culatra, 9 minutes walk,- 700 m from the marina, its boats and liveliness, 9 minutes walk.

Facilities: A swimming pool of 21 sqm is located on the rooftop. Yoga classes can be organized on the 300 sqm rooftop. On the ground floor, a room for yoga classes has a capacity of 12 people. In case of more people, we have a large space, 5-minute walk from Casa Amor.On the ground floor, a meeting room has a capacity of 12 people.
